In this workshop, you will learn how to make a teapot’s components. Instruction will include creating a lid seat on the base form, throwing different lid styles, making spouts off the hump, and pulling handles. Assembly techniques will be presented. You will also be introduced to methods to create uniform sets of cups. This workshop is designed for intermediate and advanced wheel throwers. You must be comfortable centering, opening clay, and making basic vessel shapes. Projects will be introduced, and a variety of techniques will be demonstrated. Potters may have to complete the assembly and glazing of these projects on their own time with their punch cards or dragon fire memberships.
